Fun in moderation – Lisbon Casino

We have written about bars, clubs, typical Lisbon nightspots, but today I want to write about a different night out during your stay, the Lisbon Casino.

The Lisbon Casino is the largest casino in Portugal and is located in the area previously occupied by the World Expo Pavilion of the Future 1998, currently Parque das Nações.

It is known that the great attraction of the Casino consists of gambling, both slot machines and table games, but it can also provide you with the pleasure of enjoying tasty cocktails in the Arena Lounge, which is undoubtedly a great venue for concerts and an outstanding place where you can enjoy an exquisite meal in the Passe Vite and Hua Ta Li.

This Casino consists of 3 floors full of several attractions spread across three floors where you can have a whale of a time.

K Urban Beach

It opens at 8PM as a dining destination, thanks to its two restaurants (one for sushi, another for meat), and at around midnight it turns into a bar and club partying until 4AM.
It’s found next to the Kais restaurant, which belongs to the same group, and is the perfect destination for a cocktail on the waterfront, often to the sound of national and international DJs. The sand and the location make this as close as you get to the beach in the center of the city.
It opens from Wednesday to Saturday, also on Tuesdays and Sundays during the summer.

This is a club that is chosen  most by the students and the erasmus students.

On Wednesdays and Sundays, usually the club is free until a certain hour.

Have Fun in One of the Neighborhoods of Lisbon – Santos

Hello everyone! It’s Friday and it’s day to go out at night! If you came to Lisbon with friends, so get ready and go dancing all night!

Today, we will suggest you a younger place to spend the night. It’s a different place of all that we talked about, but you will like it for sure.

During the day, Santos is a quiet place with older residents, mainly, but at night is one of the places where young people gather more. It is a neighborhood that offers a wide choice of bars. Just choose! Let us tell you a few names: Vaca Louca, All Saints, Studio 44, Marretas. If you prefer discos, there are several around.

This neighborhood also has several restaurants, so before you go dancing you can always choose a restaurant of your choice. We suggest you some restaurants in this neighborhood: Popolo – Pizza & Burger, Marco Restaurant, Nogueira’s Fire Food, Pachamama, Kizzy, Estado Líquido – Fusion Sushi. Or you can go to dinner with your friends to the Ribeira Market, which is close to Santos. We already did a post about this market here on the blog.

If, by chance, during the night, get hungry, you can go to the McDonald’s that is open until 1am. But don’t worry, there is always roulotes with burgers, bifanas, hot dogs open later. Or, you can always choose to go to the Merendeira, which has some great bread with chorizo and traditional caldo verde. As you see, you won’t go hungry!

The Trump nightclub | LGBT community

Hello dear readers, it’s Friday and as has become customary post will be about the nightlife in the city. Lisbon is a welcoming and surprising city, for this reason I decided to dedicate this publication to those who want to know a bar frequented by the LGBT community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Transgender).

The city has several options, but due to the large number of alternatives, I was forced to choose only one club that can serve as inspiration for when visiting our city. And the disco I chose was the Trumps!

Let´s Go to Caís do Sodré!

It’s Friday! Let’s go out? Don´t know where? Today I shall expailn about one of the compulsory passing places in Lisbon nightlife, Cais do Sodré.

ng5739573

Cais do Sodré grew and became a place full of life with many bars with a certain charisma, that will allow you to enjoy several drinks and great restaurants. All this transformation is related to the reconstruction of Mercado da Ribeira (briefly talk in a future post) which gave soul, color, life and movement to all that area.

This is one of the meeting points of many friends, it is always crowded and, by all accounts, those who take the foot off the floor run the risk of losing their place. Nothing is more pleasurable than fraternizing on the street drinking with friends. Cais do Sodré is not only visited by people of Lisbon, basically, it is a major attraction for tourists from many countries where this possibility of living is, without doubt, prohibited.

Some of the Bars / Restaurants you can not miss:

Music Box: A great variety of music, from jazz to rock , makes this area one of the most visited places.

Sun and Fishing: Perfect for a glass of wine (all Portuguese), accompanied by canned and a great regional bread. An excellent suggestion!

Vestigius: You may believe that this is one of the best wine and gin bars in Lisbon.

There are many more bars and restaurants that you can know in this diverse location. Enjoy all that Cais do Sodré has to offer. Make your night memorable in Lisbon!

The best place to go out for a late drink

The dock is a area below 25 de Abril Bridge along the river Tejo in Alcantara, it is situated between Baixa and Belém.

DSC_0034_resize_65

Lisbon has many places to go out at night, but nothing compares with the Dock´s atmosphere.

Dock is considered one of the most pleasant places to have dinner or to have a drink in late afternoon or evening.

You can find restaurants like Capricciosa, Irish & Co. or República da Cerveja.

Older warehouses have been transformed in restaurants, bars and clubs.

For those who like to run or riding a bike, is also a great place because is along the river and have a nice view to the Bridge.

And if you want to visit the museums, you can walk from the Dock to Belém because it is near, it is just 30 minutes until there.

To have a easiest access to Lisbon’s metro, buses and trams, you can use the Lisbon card.

How to visit:

Take the Cascais train from Cais do Sodré station to Alcamtara station and walk towards the bridge.

The Magic (Nighter)hood

The Bairro Alto is one of the oldest and picturesque neighborhoods of Lisbon, where at daytime it feels a quiet place, but at night it becomes the most popular place for people to meet and go have a drink. Usually, when someone wants to go out, Bairro Alto is the immediate thought.

Apart from go have a drink, in this neighborhood you can also go dinner, because it has several restaurants that accept reservations for group dinners, or you can just go drink a coffee.

Throughout this neighborhood, you will find many bars along its streets and for all tastes. That bars are small spaces, which make the streets filled of people talking and having fun. There you may find people of all ages, origins and styles. It is known for being the place of the university students, where they have fun and enjoy what Lisbon has the best to offer at night. This neighborhood is frequented by many foreigners, who have fun all night.

Barrio-Alto3

This neighborhood is definitely dedicated to nightlife. If you are a bohemian or you consider yourself as such, and like to have a good time with your friends, we heartily recommend the Bairro Alto.

We recommend the Park Bar, which is located in the rooftop of a car parking, offering a magnificent view over the city and the river. It is considered one of the best rooftop bars of Lisbon, where you can relax and enjoy the sunset, or go have a drink at night at the sound of various DJs’s performances. On the other hand, you can also go to this bar and try their meals in a garden scenery.
